CERTIFICATIONS

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act includes transparency and accountability standards. The State of New Mexico's certifications and assurances pursuant to this requirement are listed below:

CERTIFICATIONS REFERENCE

Section 1201 - Maintenance of Effort

This certification assures that the state will maintain its effort regarding state funding for the areas that are funded by the federal appropriation.

Section 1511 - Accountability and Transparency

This certification requires the Governor to assure that this investment has been fully vetted and reviewed, and that this is an appropriate use of taxpayer money.

Section 1607 - Jobs and Economic Growth

This letter to President Obama certifies that the state will request and use funds provided by the Recovery Act and that this money will be used to create jobs and economic growth.

Special Provision Certification

This certification states that the award winner would not have been able to implement the project were it not for Recovery Act funds, and that no other funds were available for this purpose.

U.S. Government Accountability Office Reports

The federal Government Accountability Office conducts reviews focusing on 16 states and the District of Columbia that receive a significant portion of the Recovery Act funds. Find out more about GAO and the Recovery Act.
